AUTM 2137 This course discusses the principles of air conditioning and the types, diagnosis, control and repair of air conditioning systems. The course includes hands-on work on air conditioning systems such as evacuation, component replacement, loading, recycling and performance testing. Students will also test and diagnose electronic heating and air conditioning circuits in the automotive industry. ENGL 1150 This course focuses on the process of writing compelling and compelling essays with effective writing skills and a variety of research techniques. Critical reading and logical thinking are also included in the course. The MnTC achieves Goal 1. Pre-requisite: recommended assessment of the placement. AUTM 2314 This course discusses the operating and maintenance techniques required to diagnose the home of internal machines in order to alter engine power. Students learn how to use diagnostic tools such as scantools and oscilloscopes to correct the mechanical condition of the engine. Conditions: AUTM1003 and 1013 AUTM 2248 This course includes: advanced automatic transmission and engine diagnostic procedure.
Advanced repair of automatic transmissions and engines. Preconditions: Successful completion of Autm 1003, 1043, 2218, 2228 and 2238 with a minimum total of 70% OR simultaneous registration during 2960 Skill Development with instructor approval. AUTM 1043 In this course, you learn how to test and provide basic services and manual and automatic repairs and transaxle differentials, transfer cases, cooling systems and engine lubrication systems. Preconditions: AUTM 1003, 1013, 1023, 1033 (with C or better). AUTM 2127 Students in this course will be exposed to complex automotive electronics and computerized circuits. The operation, diagnosis and repair of vehicle communication networks are examined using different tools and test instruments. Conditions: AUTM 1003, 1013, 2117. AUTM 2228 This course deals with the basic theory of automotive transmissions / Transaxles. These include torque converters, planetary gears, clutch groups, bands and hydraulic systems. Students learn transmission/transaxle surgery, diagnosis and repair. Conditions: AUTM1003, 1043 AUTM 1033 This course includes basic brake principles, hydraulic system bases, disc and drum brakes, parking brakes, anti-lock brakes and power-assist units. The focus is on the operation, diagnosis and repair of different types of braking systems.

The content reviewed includes proposals, research reports, technical manuals, feasibility studies and process reports. Conditions: Students need a score of 240 or higher for the English and Reading Accuplacer exam. Co-condition: If students score between 230 and 239 points, they can enrol in this course, but at the same time must read 0110 College Reading Boost. Reached MnTC Goal 1 AUTM 2344 This route focuses on emissions control systems and the operation, diagnosis and repair of hybrid vehicles. Live work will be at the centre of this course and will enhance understanding in previous courses. Condition: the success of AUTM1003, AUTM 1013, AUTM2314, AUTM2324 and AUTM2334 with a minimum total score of 70% OR simultaneous registration in the 2960 Skill Development course with Instructor certification.
